Plastic Bags

Plastic bags are an integral part of our lives today.! Initially promoted with a good wish to decrease the usage of paper bags as they led to deforestation, they are themselves being targeted for being a reason for land pollution and marine deaths now.
These bags line our dustbins, wrap our sandwiches and first of all carry our groceries and shopping stuff. They are used for almost every carry purpose now.
With so many uses and weighing just a few milligrams ,thick by a few microns, they seem so innocent had it not for their production figure.4 to 5 trillion bags were manufactured in 2002..!
Now what happens to these after their birth.? They accompany purchases for free,go home with the buyer,go into that basket under the stove or the kitchen sink, get reused as trash lining.
From their they don't just accompany their trash contents..they clog the drains, get eaten by animals which mistake them for their food or simply fly and get stuck to some fence or cable !
Recycling them might sound as a good option but thats pretty costly on the basis of the petroleum it uses..as if natural fuels are in excess.!
THE SOLUTION lies in reusing them until they get worn out and disposing them properly to recycle them into other plastic stuff which might be indispensibly needed.
NOT TAKING a new plastic bag but by carrying a degradable cloth bag every time we go for grocery or for that matter any shopping.

HAPPY GOING EARTH FRIENDLY :)
